Espresso Nirvana

The latest creation from our espresso labs takes its name from an expression that is a feeling, a destination, a mythical place and a musical reference.  And this combination of sensory experiences is a fitting description for the delight of Espresso Nirvana.  As a single origin espresso, it is sipable and delicious.  In cappuccinos and lattes, it is present as a delicious and present complement to the milk.  It is a feast to the eyes as a shot, with rich, thick crema.  And it plays well in drip and French press brewing. Nirvana is a blend of African, Indonesian and South American coffees roasted minimum to honor the flavors of the base coffees. Close your eyes and take a trip to Nirvana.

Guatemala Huehuetenango CODECH (Fair Trade Organic)

This delicious coffee was produced by the CODECH (Coordinadora de Organizaciones de Desarrollo de Concepción Huista) Cooperative, an alliance of four local grower associations that dedicates part of it's proceeds to the regional Teachers and Women's Counsel.  The group members are all either Mam or Popti’ indigenous Mayans. This is a sweet, easy drinking coffee with hints of spiced chocolate, caramel and lemon.  Roasted medium.

Costa Rica Brumas de Zurqui Honey Coffee

The Brumas de Zurqui farm has taken a stand against the growth in housing that has pushed out much of the coffee growing acreage in Costa Rica's Central Valley growing region, by steadfastly refusing to allow anything to get in the way of its amazing coffee.  Brumas specializes in the very challenging art of honey coffee, the result of drying the coffee with part of its sweet mucilage layer left on the beans as they dry.  The yields a sweetness and creamy body not typical of washed coffees, combined with a marriage of citric, apple and malt flavors that boldly announce themselves on the tongue.  Costa Rica produces exquisite coffee, and we are proud to offer this one in limited supply while it lasts.

Sumatra Organic Permata Gayo (Fair Trade)

This coffee, from the Permata Gayo Cooperative in the northern Sumatra region of Aceh, is an uncharacteristically clean and sweet Sumatra, with none of the musty notes that often inhabit coffees from this region.  This is our fullest bodied coffee, very, very sweet for a Sumatra and with deep sensation of raspberry or strawberry jam.  You may be tempted to use a spoon.  This is an absolutely killer Sumatra. Roasted medium, but if you are a dark roast drinker take a chance on this - you'll find the richness and flavor you crave.

Road Trip! (pronounced with emphasis, like you are planning one) is our homage to the allure of the open road and the freedom to set your compass for any direction that moves you.  Here, we combine several African coffees with an Indonesian in a delicious blend that will stamp your passport in all the right ways.  Its roasted dark, but not as dark as the Indo Limbo.

Brazil São Judas Tadeu

This delicious coffee comes from the Diamantina region of southeastern Brazil and it is grown on the legendary Antônio Rigno's Fazenda São Judas Tadeu. Antonio's most recent claim to fame was a fifth place finish in the Brazil Cup of Excellence competition, and they must have some great soil up there, because his next door neighbor finished first in the running.  The coffee is packed in the new Grainpro bags at origin to maintain freshness. This is complex for a Brazil coffee, with tones of red fruit and floral over a nut-like base. We love this classy coffee in espresso blends, as a single origin espresso and as a filter brew.
